The AmeriCorps*VISTA Program and LCTC
The Lowell Community Technology Consortium
employs
AmeriCorps*VISTA members to bring knowledge and
diversity to its programs.
How it Works
The College of Public and Community
Service at the University of Massachusetts/Boston
and the Community Technology Centers'
Network (CTCNet) host the AmeriCorps
CTC VISTA project, which provides coordination, recruitment,
training, and support for AmeriCorps VISTAs who work in CTCs across
the country.
VISTA Roles Within the Consortium
Local CTC VISTAs within the Lowell Community Technology Consortium
each play a different role and perform a variety of tasks. They
monitor computer labs and teach classes, remodel facilities, manage
web pages, promote the Consortium to the community, and lead computer
recycling programs.
