- Introductions / Updates / Announcements
CMAA offering classes on Saturdays (9am-12p and 1pm-3pm),
running an afterschool program Lowell Transitional Housing
Center and Pathfinders implementing a 5 yr. Program geared
toward adult literacy, computer training, and access for homeless
populations. Once LTHC moves to new location, lab may be open
for public access for Acre residents. Center for Family, Work
and Community embarking upon Youth Mapping services using
GIS software YWCA beginning 2nd 8wk program to
train youth folks in computer repair, upgrades and web design.
Youth Vision Project has completed their first training and
their animation project "Techanimation" will screen on June
9th @ 6:30 at LTC.

Discussion of DoE grant and its ability to leverage additional
funds Way to formalize partnerships and alliances in Lowell
Share and equalize resources City of Lowell about to enter
into cable franchise negotiations with MediaOne and these
funds could be instrumental in securing additional funds for
CTCs and the Consortium. First public hearing for renegotiaion
will be June 28th @ 6pm
- Consortium Programmatic Activities
Looking into finding mechanism to get more equipment into
community Increase training opportunities Will continue to
use monthly meetings, email, listserv and website as primary
communication tools Looking to setup working groups on youth,
equipment recycling, community information, ESL and Adult
Literacy, technology planning. Welcome suggestions for other
interest areas.
- CTCNet Conference (Atlanta) - Consortium Concerns
A contingent from the Consortium will be attending the National
Conference of Community Technology Centers in Atlanta, GA
on June 23-25th. Consortium will bring concerns
about adult self-paced learning, equipment recycling, ESL,
and other issues to the conference
